There I was just minding my own business when an e-mail from a friend pops up inviting me to "TrekSpace". Being the fun loving, friend-making, "Star Trek" - loving person I am, and knowing that this particular friend NEVER sends me spam, I decided to check it out.
TrekSpace is a networking site dedicated to Trekkies and Trekkers...those who love Star Trek. Just like MySpace, there are discussion groups dedicated to all sorts of different things. Some are dedicated to a specific series (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, or TAS), some are dedicated to fan fiction or films, and some are just plain networking groups. Some are dedicated to those in clubs, and some are dedicated to those NOT in a club. There is even a list of conventions (including Mountain-Con, of course).
One thing I've noticed is that most of the science fiction fans I know (Star Trek included) like more than just one genre. This probably explains why there are some people that use other shows as their avatar. (I even saw one that used "Tim the Enchanter" from "Monty Python's Holy Grail"!)
If you like Star Trek in any way at all, and if you like blogging or meeting people online, then check out TrekSpace at http://www.trekspace.org.
